Cultural, minor sea

#NOPLASTIC

Our priority is obviously the sea, and specifically, we have the Mediterranean Sea. We couldn't be happier about it. This sea has witnessed the evolution of many civilizations: Carthaginians, Egyptians, Phoenicians, Hebrews, Greeks, Romans, etc... It has approximately 2.5 million square kilometers and is 3,860 km long. Therefore, it is the second largest inland sea in the world. Just behind the Caribbean Sea.

The problem we find ourselves with today is its degree of contamination. This sea has the highest rates of hydrocarbons and pollution in the world. Of all the microplastics, between 21% and 45% are found in the Mediterranean basin. In this sea, 95% of its waste is plastic. On the other hand, it is estimated that there are some 30,000 tons of plastic in the Mediterranean. A plastic bag can take up to 150 years to break down, while a bottle can take up to 1,000 years.

Spain is the second country that dumps the largest amount of plastic per day. In total about 126 tons. In Dacar we think that this situation must be changed, for this reason, we have launched our #noplastic project. Here you can see our bottle without plastics. With this we contribute not only to help reduce the plastic used by our clients and friends, who day after day choose us as a reference center for their nautical activities, both in Cabo de Palos and in Cartagena and La Manga, but we also manage to raise awareness through these social media to people of the importance of reducing the use of plastics.
